Parejo and Marcelino: "Thank you for making this dream come true"

An emotional Dani Parejo and Marcelino addressed the crowd at Mestalla on Sunday in the celebrations for Valencia CF's Copa del Rey triumph, and both thanked the fans for their help in making the incredible achievement possible.
“I want to thank everybody for their part in us making this dream come true, and for believing in us during the difficult times," said captain Parejo, who had lifted the trophy at the Benito Villamarín the previous day to end an 11-year drought.
"The season didn't begin the way we wanted and our objectives seemed far away, but thanks to my teammates, the coaching staff and the club, and to the 40,000 fans who turned up for every game at Mestalla to cheer us on, we achieved our goal of qualifying for the Champions League for the second consecutive season. Thank you for enjoying this with us, because it has been incredible."
On behalf of his teammates, Parejo acknowledged the role the fans played in Sevilla during the final.
"We won on the pitch, and you won in the stands. We made history together and I want to remember all of the Valencianistas who are no longer with us, but who form part of this trophy. Valencia CF are an incredible club."
Coach Marcelino took the microphone next, to a huge ovation.
"Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Coming here, we have realised that we have made many people happy, and we feel proud of that. It's a huge sense of joy," he told the supporters.
"I especially want to single out the players, who are part of a squad of which I am very proud, because they have made me the happiest man in the world. As I said before the game, we had less experience than FC Barcelona, but they weren't going to beat us for heart. The result is there for all to see."
